I have located a source where you can find over 4000 of Ben Shahn's
photographs published between the years 1928-1940.

Would this information interest you as an answer to your question?

Perhaps-

I am interested mostly in his exhibits and what the public during
those years (1928-1940) would have had ready access to. I am
interested in the way that his photographs would have originally been
shown - that is, the order of series and photographs. Even more
specifically in 1935 in Arkansas. Does this help?

Hi ahooke,

The database I have located gives you the option to enter the criteria
you wish. For example, I selected the following criteria:

Classification: Photograph
Subject: Any
Medium: Any
Date Range: 1935-1935
Technique: Any
Location: United States-Arkansas

You also have the option to sort results by any of the following:
Accession Number
Classification
Technique
Medium
Date
Title

The result is 215 photographs.

An example of a description of one is:

Untitled
(two sons of Sam Nichols, a tenant farmer, Boone County, Arkansas)
P1970.1110
October 1935

Please let me know your views.

Best regards,

This database could be helpful to me but I am really more interested
in the way the photographs would have originally been put together as
a series. Does this database give that type of information?
