My computer (Pentium 3, runs Windows 98) has recently developed a problem but I don't know why. I would like this problem solved: Whenever I click on anything regarding settings, e.g. desktop, mouse, date/time, i.e anything in Control Panel, the following error message comes up: "Access to the specified device, path or file is denied." All I can do is click OK and it returns me to the Control Panel. Basically, I can't do anything from Control Panel any more. Help! | |

Sounds like someone has tinkered with the group settings and taken away certain adminstrative privilages from your account. Does anyone else share your computer? |

Hummer-ga, Thanks so much. I hardly know anything about computers but I followed your clear directions and it worked! I'm so happy!! And for only 50 cents! Denverbloke-ga PS Nobody had tinkered with it to my knowledge; it is in my home. |
