I am preparing a lecture and am in need of material, one of the basic
premises that I am trying to bring out is that without a strong
orginized system of goverment, chaos would reign and life would be
unbearable on this planet. I am looking for examples that demonstrate
this point. One of the clearest examples that I can think of is that
with the fall of communism came a new wave of crime that made life
quiet unpleasant to those living in the former Soveit Union. What I am
looking for is examples of crimes, mafia style, statistics, facts that
demonstrate how quickly the quaility of life fell, because of the
change in government.  While I would like authorititaitive
information, I am more in need of anedocatal material, concrete
examples, real life stories...
