Please tell me average salaries of MCSD.NET trainers.
Do they get paid by the day, class, hour? What is the range?
Is there a place to find these jobs? Where?

Clarification of Question by cornchip-ga on 16 Mar 2004 09:13 PST
I'll settle for ordenary MCT certification (for any MCSD class).

I'm interested in knowing how much I could command for teaching MS
certification classes.

Knowing where to look for the jobs is not as important, but would be nice.

I would prefer an answer from somebody that has done it or somebody
that has hired trainers... rather than somebody looking up salary
surveys online.

Thanks.

I hate to burst the bubble, but this is something that has skyrocketed
since the big .com bubble. Independant IT training centers that claim
to train you to get a high paying job in the computer industry like
infinite magic have popped up all over the USA. Over the course of
competition, many people who managed to secure financial aid for such
courses ended up with a bill and no education since many of these
institutions have filed for bankruptcy.

This boom in IT training centers was a direct result of a large amount
of skilled IT professionals lacking jobs, in a desire to fulfill the
need to train eagar IT professionals. It follows to say that jobs in
this field may end up paying less than an IT professional working for
a company.

However, there are always IT professionals in demand, particularly
highly skilled professionals. You are probably more likely to get a
higher paying job at an accredited university or college than at one
of these IT oriented training centers. On the otherhand, there may be
upstarts or existing IT training centers who may be hiring in your
area. If there are job openings and the centers are open to fund
listings, you may be best off by first looking on careerbuilder.com
because many newspapers own stake in the website, which includes local
job listings in papers. Secondly you might try monster.com as an
alternative. Monster has since decreased in size following the
discovery that the CEO lied on his resume claiming to have earned an
MBA at Harvard. If you still cannot find any, you are probably looking
in an already filled career area.

Thanks scoobiesnack. ;)

I see you have strong opinions about this... do you have any idea what
the salaries are? Do they get paid by the class? By the day? etc...?

BTW... I have a job, and a good consulting career. Many times when I
post questions like this on answers, I get a lot of people saying
something like: The economy sucks, you won't get what you want. ;)
