How do I correct the unexpected incease in the size of a Microsoft Word document? When I started the revision on the existing document is was 1,200 KB. I moved the graphics out of text boxes and placed them directly in the document, and eliminted the text boxes. The other change I made was to attempt to create an Index. I did not like the result and removed the index field marking throughout the document. I did the manually. ...... now the document is 45,160 KB. What is this? | |

I think this is it, I just fixed a 5M doc to 360K. Access File/Versions, clear the checkbox at the top and delete all the versions inside the box one-by-one. In my case, I had to close the doc and reopen it to get rid of all the versions. Theres also an icon that looks like a pile of paper next to the "save" icon at the bottom of the screen, that takes you directly to the version dialog. |
