After the success of 'O brother where art thou" T bone Burnett, and
the Coen brothers started a recording company DMZ records; I would
like to know wher, either in Nashville or Los Angeles, I can submit
material for consideration(ie an actual address, and person). If there
are other ambitious, open, alternative labels you can turn up, on the
roots , Pop , country side of things, who are looking for fully
produced, ready to promote material, I would appreciate that too.

The basic answer is even if you did get an address, whatever you send
would be thrown away. Any major label, or large indie label will not
listen to anything sent in. It must be solicited by an A&R rep or
other company contact. You could try small labels but they don't
support artists financially that well and in the end you'll end up
owing them money. The best way to get your material out there is to
prove your shows can pull in ticket buyers, record companies only care
about money. Hope that helps

Primetones.com is a great place for you to get your tracks heard by
A&R guys. It was founded by the team that headed the 1999 Woodstock
Festival Emerging Artist Stage.

DMZ is a subsidiary of Columbia/Sony Music. You might try checking the
Galaris Musicians Directory or a similar resource for the contact
information.

There is a new record label in North Texas that I think may fit your
needs. I've done some work for them and they are really nice and "Down
to Earth". They are in the process of finding new artists. They are
affiliated in some way with a musician named Mickey Dawes. He may be a
partner in the company. The label is Wildcatter Records. Their web
site is at http://www.wildcatterrecords.com/index2.html
From what I have heard, they are looking mostly for musicians that are
more traditional Country & Western. They even have something of a
retro C&W interest it seems to me.

I hope that helps.

To echo everyone else, unsolicted packages will be pitched. If you are
looking for inexpensive promotion, and a fun activity for fans check
out www.battlingbands.com Another great resource for places to submit
music is the indie bible. I really like it as it lists resources by
genre. http://www.indiebible.com/jammin/

I agree with blummy the site he has mentioned is a great place to
start however there is plenty of other places to launch yourself to
stardom. For instance http://www.sputnikradio.com recently has
unveiled its new plan to make it possible for every independent artist
to have the world class exposure they seek
