Two American history events I want to read about in depth are the
landing of the Mayflower (what prompted their adventure and what were
the occupants' tangible affect on American history), and what I
understand to be some errors by the military and FDR admistration
about the Pearl Harbor attack (mostly what I know is that radar images
were ignored because they thought the equipment was defective). I've
searched on Amazon and even asked a history professor, but I still
have not found what a majority of scholars might consider the
definitive lists of book(s) for these two topics. I'd be happy with
the top one or two books for each of these two subjects.

Revisionist historians claim that Roosevelt incited the Japanese to
attack Pearl Harbor.

Which version would you prefer?

Let's focus on the non-revisionist version for now. Thanks.
