I bought a DMR-904SU digital voice recorder from by My Voice.   I lost
the USB cable that came with it.  it must be a special cable.  The
device has some kind of super tiny usb port on it.  Looks more like a
firewire port.

Where can a mail order such a cable?
Is it really a proprietary cable, or is this some kind of
semi-standard usb type cable?

the last two connectors (the mini ones). Please tell me whether the
connector you have on the voice recorder resembles the one on the
left, or the one on the right.

However, based on your further clarification, it appears that the
'manufacturer', Daeya Trading Corp, has chosen to use a non-standard
connector. This is not that strange, as many Asian manufacturers tend
to use whichever connector helps them keep within their desired
product size. For example, there are several Asian manufacturers
(including Fujitsu) who have chosen to use a 3.5mm 'stereo' plug in
place of a standard S-Video connector:

In a case like this, unfortunately, the most likely way to find a
replacement cable is to source it through manufacturer or their
importer. The rate of success will depend on the manufacturer, and in
this case based on your experience it seems they are not interested in
helping out their customers.

I'm sorry that we were not more successful in finding a source for the
replacement cable, in case you ever need to try to find one again in
the future. This may actually be a good time to find out exactly how
the connector is wired to the cable (as in, which pin of the 'regular'
USB connector goes to which part of the non-standard connector). It
would also be a good time to identify the non-standard connector
itself. That way, if you do need to find a replacement, you might be
able to get someone to simply make a replacement using a regular USB
cable, and a replacement connector similar to the non-standard one.

Unfortunately, the two 'mini' connectors on the ramelectronics.net
page are the smallest 'standard' USB connectors available. If neither
one is the one on your digital recorder, then you will definitely need
to contact the manufacturer for further information on how to purchase
a replacement. I noticed that a commenter has already provided the
corporate website link above.
