Dear XMR,
Thsi is a report from 1982 and most likely would not be found online
to be downloaded. However, I found it in several libraries. I also
found a way for you to receive (for a fee) the summary of the report.
Would you be interested in those?

Yes and no. If the summary contains an analysis showing how the
collapse mechanism was determined, then, yes, this is what I'm looking
for. Otherwise I need the full report. Lastly, is it possible to get
either the summary or the full report by fax/email today?

As noted, the NBS report is not readily available, but there is plenty
of information on the web about the collapse itself. For instance,
have a look at:
http://www.mech.utah.edu/ergo/educate/safety_modules/KC/
Does this material meet your needs?

Dear Pafalafa,
No, I found that one in addition to every other site google hits on
relative to this subject. I even tried the NIST and other government
databases without success. As mentioned on my original question and
subsequent clarifications, I'm looking for an electronic, fax or email
version of NBSIR 82-2465, or its summary, by today or I'll have to go
without it.
Thanks,
XMR
