In latex, how do you generate something that looks exactly
like the list that would be produced by the itemize environment,
but is not indented on either the right or the left.  That is,
if the dashes represent the text width and the regular itemize
generates this:

---------------

  1. The big 
     cat sat
     on  the 
     mat.

---------------

I want this:

---------------

1. The big  cat 
   sat  on  the 
   mat.

---------------

Actually it seems the default itemize only indents on the left,
so it is only that I want to get rid of.
