Hi! Thanks for the question. The following figures from ABC Access provide circulation numbers for the major newspapers in the US. The first link gives out the circulation figures for the ?top 10? and the second link for the ?top 100? US newspapers. Here is a rundown of the Top 10. 1. USA Today 2. The Wall Street Journal 3. The New York Times 4. Los Angeles Times 5. The Washington Post 6. Chicago Tribune 7. New York Daily News 8. The Denver Post/Rocky Mountain News 9. The Dallas Morning News 10. The Philadelphia Inquirer ?Top 10 Newspapers by Largest Reported Circulation? http://www.newsandtech.com/issues/2003/06-03/nt/06-03_circulation.htm ?Top 100 Newspapers by Largest Reported Circulation? http://www.accessabc.com/reader/top100.htm A general presentation of readership numbers meanwhile is available from Roy Morgan Research. You can also see that it also references the Access ABC website. A ?Reader?s Per Copy? figure is also available. ?United States - Major Newspapers, Newspaper Inserted Magazines/Supplements & Weekly Newspapers? http://www.roymorgan.com/news/press-releases/2003/279/index.cfm?page=3 However if you want to see some free detailed readership figures for some of the newspapers, we have to go back to the ABC Access website. Figures are not available to every newspaper in the top 10 like USA Today Wall Street Journal and The New York Times but a lot of the figures for other top newspapers can be seen here. I will limit the links to the documents here to those within the top 20. LA Times http://www.accessabc.com/reader/103000_0103_RPRD.pdf The Washington Post http://www.accessabc.com/reader/107050_0203_RPRD.pdf The Dallas Morning News http://www.accessabc.com/reader/145050_0203_RPRD.pdf The Denver Post http://www.accessabc.com/reader/105650_0203_RPRD.pdf The Philadelphia Inquirer http://www.accessabc.com/reader/141100_0703_RPRD.pdf The Detroit News/The Detroit Free Press http://www.accessabc.com/reader/121350_0702_RPRD.pdf The Boston Globe http://www.accessabc.com/reader/119300_1202_RPRD.pdf Minneapolis Star Tribune http://www.accessabc.com/reader/123400_0103_RPRD.pdf The Atlanta Journal http://www.accessabc.com/reader/109050_1202_RPRD.pdf The San Francisco Chronicle http://www.accessabc.com/reader/104251_0103_RPRD.pdf The Arizona Republic http://www.accessabc.com/reader/100650_0103_RPRD.pdf If you want to know the readership numbers for other newspapers, you can go to this link and just click on the name of the newspaper. ?Audit Bureau of Circulations - Reader Profile - Released Reports? http://www.accessabc.com/reader/released.htm Search strategy used: US newspaper circulation numbers 2003 "USA Today" readership figures I hope these links would help you in your research.
