I'm trying to track down an Enid Blyton book I read as a child over 30
years ago. I'd like to know the title, and where I can purchase it.
Best as I can remember, the story involved 2 children, a boy and a
girl, who run away and find shelter in the hollow base of a great, big
tree. They make this their home, and bring food and supplies to it
from home. That's all I remember of the story.

Dear dscharf-ga,

From your description, the book you are seeking is ?Hollow Tree House?
by Enid Blyton.

I have found someone else who asked a similar question to yours and
this was posted as an answer:

"Hollow Tree House by Enid Blyton - I've found a copy of the Blyton
book suggested. Peter and Susan live with their bad- tempered scolding
aunt and shiftless uncle. With their friend Angela and her puppy
Barker they find a huge hollow tree in the woods and bring old rugs
and castoff furniture to make it into a secret house. They find their
way back and forth by a string marking the trail. When Aunt Margaret
decides to send them to a Children's Home they run away to the hollow
tree. They live in it for a few days, washing in a pond and making a
bed from heather, while Angela brings them food from her home."

A young reader gave this review of the book:
"Hollow Tree House by Enid Blyton
It was about kids that run away from their wicked Auntie. They find a
hollow tree and make it their home. It was magical. There were pixies
and fairies in it."

I'm not sure if it's the same book I read as a child but 'The Far Away
Tree' or 'The Magic Faraway Tree' are the titles that popped in head
when I read your question. Both books (or could be the same book) are
also from Enid Blyton.

Thank you! It is indeed the "Hollow Tree House." I remember the aunt
and uncle now. Now I have to purchase it!
