My band, the gizzards, needs a logo for our website and also to use to
print shirts, etc. Can someone come up with a simple design (we are an
old school style punk band) in the form of a .jpg file or something
else that we can use for the site and then also print out to use to
create t-shirts?

For what you are looking for, you need someone who is a graphics
artist. Otherwise, anything that already exists on the Web that can be
found by a Google Answers Researcher, is already the copyrighted
property of someone else.

If you can tell us the region of the world where you are located,
perhaps we can provide you with contact information for a nearby
visual arts college that you can check with to see if a student is
willing to do this for your band for a small fee (or preferably no fee
at all!). That way, you can own the copyright on the design. That will
be very important if you decide to start using it for merchandise,
such as t-shirts.
