I am buying a new car in San Diego, California. I want to know what
are all the taxes and fees added to the price of the car and how they
are computed.
For example I know sales tax is 7.75%, but I understand they add other taxes
or fees for car sales. How are these computed? Given a base price X, how do
I get the out the door price after all these fees and taxes?
If it helps, my car will be a Toyota Camry LE 4 Auto with ABS.

Go to www.edmunds.com and there you will be able to see what you can
possibly get a car or truck for. It will not figure the taxes for
you, but once you find what options you want and what the manufactor
rebate is, then you can call a dealership and ask what price they will
sell the car to you. They can figure the taxes with no obligation to
you. You should be able to get a breakdown of the taxes. Edmunds.com
gives you the market value price of what you should be able to get the
car from the dealer.
