Where can I find the statistics on the total amount of customs duties

Dear harijs,

According to the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) the
total “calculated duties,” for “All Import Commodities” in the U.S. for 2001
were 18,618,806,070. This information has “been compiled from tariff and trade
data from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Treasury, and the U.S.
International Trade Commission.”

http://dataweb.usitc.gov/scripts/REPORT.asp

Please note, that to get to this link you will need to register on the USITC
website and fill out a Query form on the trade database. Registration and use
is free. By registering you will have access to the USITC trade database,
which allows you to retrieve trade statistics according to a wide range of
variables (i.e. domestic imports, calculated duties, import charges, etc.).
The “create a new user account” on the USITC website can be reached at,

http://dataweb.usitc.gov/scripts/user_set.asp

The query details I used to get the above number are as follows:

List: All Import Commodities

Country Name: All Countries

Display Data Field: Calculated Duties

Aggregation Level: HTS0

Display Description: No

Time Line: Annual
