I'm writing an article on how to write effective e-mail messages. One of the tips I give is to use attachments sparingly, and only when it's absolutely necessary, which I believe never is. I'm trying to come up with a good simil to illustrate that point. So far, it's eluding me. So my question is how would you complete the following sentence: Receiving an e-mail with a bulky file attachment is like ... It has to appropriately illustrate the fact that it's inconvenient and annoying Thanks |

...coming home to find a surprise birthday cake from a friend stuffed awkwardly into your mailbox. While it may be well-intentioned, it's messy and inconvenient, especially when the rest of your messages get frosting all over them. |
