Dear cameron1-ga,
The Richmont Hotel was renovated and then became part of the Motel 6
chain of hotels. Motel 6 apparently sold it and it is now part of the
Red Roof Inn group of hotels.

Here?s the trail to the answer:

Medical Library Association conference notes in 1999.
"Formerly the Richmont Hotel, which had been renovated, Motel 6 took
over the operation just a few years back."
http://www.lgbtsig.org/99housing.html

An old hotel directory listing gives the Richmont address as
162 E. Ontario St., Chicago.

Another hotel directory site gives the Motel 6 address as
Motel 6 - Chicago, Illinois
162 E Ontario St, Chicago,
http://chicago.hotelrooms.com/966725064.html

However, when one goes to the Motel 6 web site, no listing is shown.
http://www.motel6.com/reservations/motel_search.asp

It now is the Red Roof Inn Hotel. Here?s a current listing for the
hotel on the Red Roof Inn web site
http://www.redroof.com/reservations/inn_details.asp?innNumber=281

I hope this answers your question. If it does not, or the answer is
unclear, then please ask for clarification of this research before
rating the answer. I shall respond to the clarification request as
soon as I receive it.
Thank you
