Configure a complete Computer System with money not being an object.

I have researched on google for the "ultimate pc", but most articles
were from 2002-2003. I need all the most high-tech/ most popular and
current parts for this ultimate computer.

This is what my professor wrote what must be in the research paper-

Configure a complete Computer System for yourself or for a corporate
Executive Vice President. Cost is no object. Describe in a page or
two the why you would purchase the items selected. Research web
sites, magazines, or newspapers for pricing information and include
those in your report. Include ISP, mobile connectors, input and
output devices, operating software and application software.

Hello again. Thanks for the reponse, but I only need configuration for
a desktop. I need every single top component in one page. In a list if
possible.

Lets go with the system that will enable me to rule the
massively-online role-playing game universe. It'll need the best
gaming system that money can buy.

thanks,

randy

Some categories to look at:
Mobile
Small
Standard

In Mobile, you might be interested in:
Handheld Windows XP machines:

Imported Laptop PCs not released in the U.S.

In the "Small" Category, you might want to check out these:

http://www.mini-itx.com/

In the standard category, I would suggest looking at MaximumPC, where
they pick the best components:

http://www.tomshardware.com/

Double-layer DVD burner from Sony
http://www.tomshardware.com/hardnews/20040317_160409.html

There's some very large, very fast hard drives that just came out...
look for those.

Once you've decided what you want, find the lowest prices:

Here are the top-rated components all on one page:

Here is where you go to find low prices on those components:

The only thing I can think of not listed is the new Sony dual-layer DVD burner:

Good luck with your assignment.

Hmm, cost isn't an odject, eh?

Here are a few things to consider:

1. The "VapoChill" phase change cooler (overclocking) from Asetek
2. "Orpheus" headphones from Sennheiser
3. The "LP650" projector from InFocus

These are just things that I would include if I had unlimited funds,
and want the "ultimate" computer. The VapoChill makes your computer's
chip outperform anything on the market(800+ Mhz stable overclock). The
projector is the only way to go for a monitor. As for the headphones,
anything that's small and costs $15,000 has to be good!

rpabla-ga:

When I read the assignment that your professor gave you, I'm torn
between saying "let's create the most powerful system possible using
commercially available components" to design a system for myself, or
creating the most efficient and useful tool to assist an executive VP
(which does not necessarily mean the latest and greatest, it means
choosing the components and applications that will help out the E-VP
the most in doing their job).

In either case, you'll score high marks if you first identify what the
actual client needs are, as opposed to simply aiming for the latest
and greatest component in every category. For example, if you state
that the client is yourself, and you need a system that will enable
you to rule the massively-online role-playing game universe, then
you'll need the best gaming system that money can buy; you will not
need components such as VPN, enterprise application interfaces, or
even presentation tools. If, on the other hand, you are specifying a
system for an executive VP who leads a global services organization,
then portability, constant connectivity, and security become the
driving requirements that will determine the components and
applications to be specified.

So, take this comment however you like; I think you'll do yourself a
great service if you spell out who your client is, and what exactly
they need to accomplish their goals, before you even mention the first
item that you would include.

Good luck,

aht-ga

http://www.krikkit.com/tim/tim_ultimate_pc.shtml

"Ultimate" is always open for debate, so take these two webpages as
simply two opinions. Personally, I don't agree with all of their
choices, but then again I don't have a webpage describing my 'ultimate
PC', so no use in me criticizing their choices.

I just configured a computer on newegg.com today for a friend of mine
with that exact stipulation; money is no object. It's an over kill
and a half, but maybe it's what you're looking for

This might help:

http://www.sharkyextreme.com/guides/EGBG/article.php/3332071

Sharky Extreme writes up a monthly guide to building a PC, high end,
low end, etc. This link is to the high end machine.

Much like aht-ga said, in the real world, you'd need to find out what
sort of work the VP will be doing and let that be the guide for the PC
config.

I think you'll find some inspiration by looking at this product:
http://www.brabus-online.de/prog18e.htm
Okay, its a car, but the use of computers within it is relevant to
your paper. The car itself has a PC built in with full-size keyboards,
monitors and mice for the occupant(s).
The vehicle also features a quad-gprs connection for high-speed
communications when on the move.
Finally there is a notebook which is connected to the car via an
802.11 connection should you want to keep working whist outside the
vehicle.

The owner of this car would enjoy seamless access to IT without compromise.
