Hello. The company is called "Bumper's Magical Workshop." It's located in San Diego, California. The full name may be seen on the label for this paper tear sold at clownantics.com: http://www.clownantics.com/images/magic/g1410.jpg From this clownantics web page: http://www.clownantics.com/papermagic.shtml Contact info: Bumper's Magical Workshop 4410 Glacier Avenue Suite 108, San Diego, CA 92120 (619) 640-0175 From superpage.com: http://yellowpages.superpages.com/ffile.jsp?SRC=portals&N=bumper%27s+magical&T=San+Diego&S=CA&R=N&STYPE=S&LID=0095129866&display=1 Bumper's Magical Workshop San Diego, CA 619-640-0175 From partypop.com: http://www.partypop.com/Categories/Magicians_Magic_Shows/CA_San_Diego.htm I called them at 619-640-0175, and it's definitely the right company. The answering machine indicates that Bumper's Magical Workshop makes "magic supplies for entertainers worldwide." ----- search strategy: "paper tears" bumper magic "bumper's magical" I hope this helps. |

Hi, onetrilliondollars--just curious: is that "paper tears" as in "teers" (salty drops from your eyes) or "tares" (rips)? In context and even looking at the links, it seems to me that one makes about as much sense as the other. Thanks, Apteryx |

Howdy apteryx-ga, Not the Questioner, but someone who has studied illusions. It is tears, as in rips. These type of illusions are sometimes called "tear and restore" or "torn and restore" because that is the gist of the illusion. The illusionist takes a newspaper, (or paper hat, in the Bumper's version) tears it up, then restores it. Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher |
