If you are looking for buyers for fine art you will probably need to
go through a dealer or broker. Most brokers will appraise the piece or
tell you where you can go to have it appraised. If you tell me where
you are located I will do what I can to locate are brokers, dealers
and appraisers in your area.

Here is one I found that is online:
http://www.artcellarexchange.com/buysell2.html#sell
The Art Cellar Exchange is a international fine art consultancy.
Their services are specifically designed for collectors who wish
to sell fine art works. They provide auction results and current
market values.
You can fill out their Request Form online or call their offices
at 1-800-326-2236 in the U.S. and 01-619-338-0797 outside the U.S.

An online document, Tips on Finding an Appraiser is provided by the
American Society of Appraisers. This trade organization certifies
appraisers in a number of specialized fields, including Fine Art
Appraisal.

"There are numerous appraisal organizations in the nation; but of the
eight major testing/accrediting societies, only the American Society
of Appraisers teaches, tests and accredits appraisers in the various
disciplines described above. The American Society of Appraisers
publishes a directory of accredited appraisers that consumers can use
to select an appraiser. In addition, you can use ASA's toll-free
telephone number to find an appraiser in your area.

The number is (800) ASA-VALU."

The two largest Fine Arts auction houses are Christie's and Sotheby's.
However, an advanced search of their current or sold lots does not
include any works by Lazar Raditz. Either auction house is still an
excellent source to contact for appraisal.

Sotheby's now offers online auctions through eBay. Their auction site
contains a wealth of information about the sale of Fine Art through
this online service.

You may be able to locate some of these reference books at your local
library. There is little biographical information available on the
Web. I've been able to locate information which indicates that at one
point, Lazar Raditz was a pupil of Chase William. The information is
provided by S-K Creations of Switzerland, Art Appraisers and
Collectors.

In addition to the Balch collection, which contains works by Lazar
Raditz, the Reading Pennsylvania Public Museum has also exhibited at
least one of his works. This is not surprising, as a very minimal web
biography indicates that his most prominent location was Pennsylvania.
An obituary indicates a date of death as 04/21/56. At least one of
Lazar Raditz works is available for web viewing in the collection of
the Philadelphia Historical Digital Image Library.

One purchaser of two Raditz portraits is the Blach Institute. However,
one of the portraits is a Blach relation, so it may be there for the
subject as much as the artist.

http://www.balchinstitute.org/about.htm

In an Smithsonian interview with Robert Carlen, Carlen mentions having
known Raditz through the Graphic Sketch Club in Philadelphia, at the
beginning of the century. This was renamed the Fleisher Art Memorial
for anther member, and they may be interested in the work of a
Fleisher contemporary. Raditz taught at the Club, and was sponsored by
Fleisher, as related by Carlen:

"Of course he was sponsored by Mr. Albert Fleisher [Sam]. Albert
Fleisher when Raditz was young sent him to Europe. He had good
connections. That was very important to painters. He used to get a lot
of portrait commissions. He studied in Europe for years and he made
copies of paintings by Rembrandt and Rubens and all the way they
studied in those days."

Hopefully, somebody who is up on current gallery or autction house
practice can give you some detailed info.
