Question ID: 319304
I need a new nickname for a message forum and am having a "creative"
writers block. The name should be tech-related, but sophisticated and
original. Latin origins wouldn't hurt either, but am open to many
things. Telecom, tech-related, or just cool sounding would be good.
It needs to lend itself to being put in with my real name. We'll say
it's Brian Larson. So, something cool like Brian "dBious" Larson is
what I'm looking for. Easy enough?

1. Needs to have tech origins
2. Needs to be creative and professional
3. Sophistication

As with any type of creative attempt, multiple "offerings" would be
beneficial, so that if I don't like the only nickname you mention, you
won't get upset.

The shorter the better.

Clarification of Question by brianl866-ga on 22 Mar 2004 16:31 PST
I like snapanswer's the best thus far; let me clarify that it doesn't
need to be a play on my name, but just something that would go well
with the name. ie George "Babe" Ruth.

To be fair, because of the purely subjective and speculative nature of
the question, I will award the money to the best suggestions I hear in
the next day or so. This won't be a "perpetual" pseudonym naming
thread.

Kind of a weird request though, no?

Thanks.

My husband's name is Brian. I tease him because he gets lots of junk
mail addressed to him as "Brain." Ah, the difference a typo can make.
;-)

How about Brian "Brainiac" Larson?

I have no confidence that these meet your criteria, but how about:

Wi-ley Fi

802.11g-nee-us

P2rPan

KaZaaM! (if you're a file sharer)

MyGHz (get it? "My giga hurts." Begs the question--what is your giga
and why does it hurt? OK, not so professional . . .)

Bilbo Bloggins

You could use an anagram of 'BRIAN LARSON', such as one of these...

SNARLIN' ORBA

SIR NORBANAL

BARON SARNIL

LABS RANNOIR

LARS BARINON

Love ya, ipfan!

Hey, to someone who has been paid to answer the question "What color
is penguin poop?", nothing appears weird. :-D

You are welcome to the nick 'pinkfreud' if you want it. It has served
me well, but I can't claim exclusive rights to the name (except here
on GA, of course).
