Hello again Jim.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
There is very little information available on this company. What is
available certainly suggests -- but doesn't confirm -- that it is a
small operation, perhaps just one person, who appears to be operating
a car sales business from home.
Let's begin with the official government records.
==========
Interamerican Autos filed as a corporation with the State of
California on June 20, 2003. Some details of the filing can be seen
here:
http://kepler.ss.ca.gov/list.html
Corporate Record Search
Enter [ Interamerican autos ] into the search box, and you'll access a
record that includes this information:
Corporation: INTERAMERICAN AUTOS CORPORATION
Number: C2533407
Date Filed: 6/20/2003
Status: active
Jurisdiction: California
Mailing Address
1500 SOUTH SECOND STREET STE L
ALHAMBRA, CA 91801
Agent for Service of Process
SARA LAI
1500 SOUTH SECOND STREET STE L
ALHAMBRA, CA 91801
==========
Other public records are available through state and county government
offices, but are not available on-line through government sources.
However, there are commercial databases, such as Lexis-Nexis, and
Dialog (which you may find available free of charge in your public
library) that do make such records available, and by searching several
of these, I was able to add the following public information about
Interamerican Autos from the company's Articles of Incorporation:
Name: INTERAMERICAN AUTOS CORP
Address: 1500 S 2ND ST APT L
ALHAMBRA, CA 91801-5005
Telephone: 626-570-9248
SIC Classification: 5511 NEW AND USED CAR DEALERS
Officers:
SARA LAI
PRESIDENT
1500 SOUTH SECOND STREET STE L
ALHAMBRA, CA 91801
==========
A few things to note about the above:
Sara Lai is listed as both the process server name as well as the sole
corporate officer.
The address given in the second set of information indicates an
apartment (as opposed to a Suite).
==========
The suggestion that this is a home-based business is further
reinforced by conducting a reverse address search of 1500 south second
street in alhambra:
http://www.whitepages.com/search/Reverse_Address?housenumber=1500&street=south+second&city_zip=91801&state_id=CA
The results of such a search shows six listings at this address, all
of which appear to be residential.
==========
Beyond that, there's not much. The following searches came up empty:
--No UCC filing for this company
--No Judgements, Commercial Liens or Tax Liens show up in relevant databases
--No newspaper or magazine mentions of company name or company officer's name
--No court cases in legislative databases
--No Google hits on "interamerican autos" for searches of:
The web at ://www.google.com/
news stories at http://news.google.com/
or at Google Groups at:
://www.google.com/grphp?hl=en&tab=wg&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=
--No relevant hits for similar searches on the name of the company
executive (the name turns up results, but they all appear to be
unrelated to this particular company, and are most likely hits for
other people with the same name)
--No entry appears for this company in the Better Business Bureau
databases at either the national or Southern California databases:
http://search.bbb.org/search.html?advanced=Yes
http://www.bbbsouthland.org/
--No listing in the Dun and Bradstreet Small Businesses database:

==========
That's all she wrote.

In general, the answer to your question is "No, it's not possible."
I've looked into this very question in considerable detail in the
past, and have found there is virtually nothing available on
import/export data for individual firms.
To the extent that Customs collects such info at all, it is generally
maintained at individual ports (rather than a central database) and is
only available to law enforcement and security officials.
There ARE two Customs databases that are public, and that sometimes
turn up small bits (or even valuable bits!) of information on a
company's import/export activity. You can see them at the Customs
Service search site at:
http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/legal/
However, there is nothing in these records regarding InterAmerican Autos.
Let me know if you have any other questions I can help you with.
Thanks.

Jim,
Thanks so much for the kind rating and the vote of confidence.
You cannot contact me outside the postings here at Google Answers. If
you'd like, though, you can always post a question to my attention (or
to the attention of any other researcher) by indicating a name in the
subject line of the question, e.g. Attn: Pafalafa-ga, or in the body
of the question itself.
Be warned, however, that if I am tied up with other things, I might
not be able to get to your question in a timely fashion. Some
customers have posted questions along the lines of: "This one's for
pafalafa-ga, but if it isn't answered by Tuesday, then it's open to
anyone."
Hope to see you back here soon.
