I am getting lots of emails with W32/Netsky.p@mm them. Why? I mean
like 50 to 100 every day. Lately it seems to be upping.

I get a message from my McAfee virus scan software that it has that
virus in the attachment and that it has been cleaned.

I mean I get emails from almost all unknown people. Even from Japan,
Denmark, and who knows where.

Do I just have to live with this and delete, delete, delete?

Or what? Also, I get emails from people with AOL accounts and has no
content and no subject? What's up there?

HELP!!!

God bless you to get me answers that will bring me relief!!
John

Also, my McAfee virus cleaning text with the email says I should let
the sender know about the email virus. Would that help for me to do
that some 100 times a day to unknowns???

NetSky is a menace. There are so many infected computers out there
that it's not that unusual to receive hundreds of worm-bearing emails.

Are you using any form of spam-blocker?

Your email address was located somewhere (someones infected hard-drive
if not some forum or place you scribed it) and it is being propagated
by worms sent robotically by evildoers that want to fool the unwary
into opening the attachment (the netsky) and fulfill some dastardly
spamming or even criminal deed ... you are fortunate to have mcAfee
scrub it off for you, and not have opened it.

It should taper off in time, for your sake hopefully soon. You might
(with possibly aid of your ISP) filter out some unique phrases with
some spam-fighting tools, and not have to delet-delete-delete, but
that is the ONLY answer besides changing your email... at least take
some confort that you are not alone, although surely an extremely
annoying case of it. And know that there have been some arests made in
2004 to the perpetrators, from the US, UK, and Eastern Europe, and
Africa, among other origins. Good Luck.

Dear doodkj-ga. Thank you for your kind words and updated counsel and advice.
I can live with it then. I know if I delete, delete them first on my
main pc,that theywill not reach as many if any to my networked pc.

God bless you to know and do His will!

Short of changing your e-mail address, there's not much you can do to
keep from getting infected messages. However, it is possible to set up
a spam blocker and/or (depending on the e-mail client you're using)
your e-mail client so you never have to see the infected letters.
When I check my mail in the morning, I often have 200 or more letters,
but with the filters in place I actually see only three or four real
letters that are meant to me, and the rest are automatically trashed.
