There's something funny going on and even the Mexican President is
asking questions.

I don't think that he's going to get a straight answer from the
British Government, nobody ever does.

My guess is that they are preparing a very superior bolt-hole for Tony
& Cherie. Nobody would ever think of looking for them there.

Of course, I am sure that one of the Great Gifted Five Hundred can
ferret out the correct answer.

But, please, don't forget to disclose your Search Strategy.

I hope that none of our Learned Researchers has overlooked the fact
that Kurt Jahnke was in Mexico during WW1.

You don't think they were just on a wholesome adventure?

There are suggestions they were looking for uranium.

"One Mexican newspaper suggested the cavers might have been
prospecting for uranium in the 8.5-mile cavern system."

One newspaper says that this team's "reserve" has aroused suspicion
locally, and reports "el presidente municipal de Cuetzalan" saying
that scientists from both the US and the UK have been investigating
the caves for 10 years. He also says there have been extra visitors to
the area since December.

I await more interesting theories.
(The bolt-hole idea doesn't quite ring true - not luxurious enough for T & C.)

Best wishes - Leli

Without attempting to display any personal political belief
whatsoever, as that would be far from professional, I should
nevertheless note that many people in the UK would embrace the concept
that these cavemen were looking for a bolt-hole from the Blairs. In
fact many would be glad to lose a day's pay in order to help them
pack.

Hi Bryan!

In this report from the Channel News Asia website, a British official
privately met Mexican authorities and said that the men there were
mapping out the caverns.

"Meanwhile, a British official who met privately with Mexican
authorities acknowledged that nine of the 12 explorers were members of
the British armed forces. The officials insisted, however, that the
expedition was not a military operation but private trip arranged by
the team."

"'The speleologists were carrying out a civilian mission that has
scientific goals,' the embassy continued. 'They were making a map of
the caverns.'"

"Britain seeks to calm row over 'missing' military speleologists"

Another explanation is available from the Ministry of Defence.

"The Ministry of Defence said the men were there during a combined
services adventurous training expedition and were not on exercise."

"The training expedition, Exercise Cuetzalan Tiger, was to teach
leadership, self-reliance and endurance skills."

"'Trapped cavers doing nothing wrong'"

Two things...

1. Those guys were looking for Jahnke in that cave.
2. Or he was one of those trapped. (I think this is a far fetched idea
since it was even difficult for me to hold him in my own backyard). :)

There are TWO people trapped in the caves ...

Yes, one is Kurt Jahnke for sure and the other ....?

Why Hedy Lamarr ....

They both managed to elude Easterangel when they visited the Philippines.

Another mystery solved!

Well done, everybody.

So this goes to show that Hedy indeed went to the UK to meet with the
British soldiers and went off to Mexico for the cave adventure.

I have been vindicated! :)

Easterangel

You were ACQUITTED ... That is not the same as VINDICATED.

Both Kurt & Hedy have now been rescued and they may implicate you in
the dastardly plot.

Please, don't press your luck or you may face new charges.

I am passing these papers to the Trial Judge.

If ever there will be a retrial, I will request that it will be here
in the Philippines.

Banana Herat will be served during the trial. :)

They don't have to be doing *anything* purposeful in the caves.
They're British, and we as a nation are known for eccentricity.

The HUTC Archive includes such gems as London Taxi Cab racing, 12 hour
Lawnmower Racing, and Cheese Rolling.

Hi, Owain

We surely are an 'Eccentric Lot' but even so ....

Have you heard of 'Pausible Denial'?

Hello Bryan,

I know you're disappointed because I was not able to post an answer to
your Famous Single Men question. As of this time I got my hands full
with my other freelance projects (most likely until next week). I
could simply have put Jesus Christ and gave some details but I know
you'll be unhappy because you wanted QUALITY, which simply means some
time to research. I sincerely apologize for keeping you waiting,
Bryan. Next time, I'll make it up to you. Thank you very much for
recognizing me and including me in your list of researchers.

Hi, Feilong, & Many Thanks for your Comment.

I am so glad that you are OK but 'Is it really you?' I have to ask myself.

I therefore request a full set of fingerprints (both hands and feet)
and a DNA certified by any honest politician (Ideally, I would like
two but that might be overly ambitious).

I am sure that you appreciate the reasons for my concerns.

Warmest regards

A Worried PB

The answer is a simple one. English food, as we all know, is not the
best in the world. The group is attempting to find Mexican food
culinary secrets long lost inside the caves and then claim the new
recipes as and English new-age food revival. Maybe a better
explanation would be that George W. Bush suggested to Tony Blair that
Osama maybe hidding in those caves in Mexico. Tony would believe
anything that George says... mhhh.... not a far-fetched
possibility...mmmhh
