I should like the record of service during World War One of Private Christopher Lehane, army number 13626. He served with the VIIIth Cyclist Battalion from 15 Feb 1916 to 29 August 1919. Where and what engagements if any did this take him to? He was mentioned for gallantry in battn orders of Nov 1918 - why? (Also, on 29 July 1917, while on leave at Cap Gris Nez, he saved a drowning Frenchman, and was awarded the Royal Humane Society's medal). | |

Dear Bryan, have a second look: I wrote "National Archives, Public Records Office". As for the postal address ... well, that's how they provide it on their website. And who am I to change what Her Majesty's officials wrote? Greetings, Scriptor |

Dear Scriptor Who do you prefer to believe? A member and a frequent visitor? Or a mere website run by 'Government Officials'? Bryan |
