I have a windows 2000 professional system acting as a Netbios SMB server on a small office network. Occassional the netbios processes on it stop, and I have to restart them by right clicking on the network icon on the desktop, and disabling and reeenabling TCP/IP services. What is the name of the process that handles the netbios listen process and what is the likely issue here? |

I believe the term you are looking for is 'keep-alive' Here is a link to a Microsoft kb that discusses this. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;120642 good luck |
