Emmamoore --
First, be aware that researchers do not work for Google, so have no
insight or private tools to tell you how the Googlebot is working.
That said, many of us watch the search category carefully and perform
dozens of intense searches each day, so are very familiar with what's
LIKELY to be occurring.
First, the Salsology site is not in the DMOZ directory. The best
policy in submitting your site is to make sure that it is submitted to
both DMOZ and Google. In the current webmaster guidelines, Google
notes that it's usually about 6-8 weeks after submission that a new
URL appears:
Google
"How Do I Get My Site Listed on Google" (2003)
The webmaster guidelines pages indicate some of the things that can
cause problems in getting listed, including the use of automated
submission services. Obviously, we researchers have no idea what's
been done in the past:

USING FRAMES
--------------
There's been great debate on the use of frames, which you use for the
site www.salsology.com Some webmasters have even contended that use
of frames INCREASES the Google page rank by having more associated
pages. However, my experience is that frames have to be very
carefully implemented in order for that to work.
More often, frames get ignored by the Googlebot. Recently, Google put
up a new pages that explains techniques for using framed pages:
"My Web Pages are Not Currently Listed" (2004)
Google also links to this SearchEngineWatch.com article, indicating
that they consider it authoritative:
"Search Engines and Frames," (Sullivan, Dec. 5, 2000)
http://searchenginewatch.com/webmasters/article.php/2167901
However, with all of that said, your alternate page --
www.salsatribe.com -- doesn't appear in the Google results either.
There are many reasons that this is possible, but the first I'd look
at is: how old are the pages? Are they being found in the usual
places.
HISTORY
--------
The "usual" places to look are the Whois directory and the Internet
Archives Wayback Machine. Let's start with the Wayback Machine, named
after Prof. Peabody's time machine from the "Rocky & Bullwinkle"
cartoons, but a very serious Internet tool:
Internet Archives Wayback Machine
http://web.archive.org/collections/web.html
It finds neither of your sites.
Next, on to the Whois directory, run by Network Solutions:

Emma -- you created the domain on March 18, 2004! Remember that
Google said "six to eight weeks" to appear.
www.salsatribe.com appears in the Whois directory since Aug. 8, 2003.
