a1agifts...
You have made the first steps in getting rid of this annoying spyware,
scumware or whatever other unflattering names there are out there for
it. I run AdAware weekly and it is amazing the garbage it finds.
Let's see if we can get rid of TrafficMarketplace.
First, with AdAware, did you update to the most current reference
file? To do this, on the splash screen for AdAware, next to the line
labeled "STATUS OK AdAware 6 Initialized" there is a link to check for
updates. Click on that and be sure you have the most current
reference file. Lavasoft is very dilligent with getting updates and I
would think it should pick up trafficmarketplace, but I could be
mistaken.
If AdAware does not remove the offending program, PestPatrol,
http://pestpatrol.com/, will remove it, as stated here:
http://pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/t/trafficmarketplace.asp
Thanks for your question. Please let me know if this works out for
you and if you need any clarification, please let me know.

Hello THV,
Thank you for the reply.
I downloaded Pestpatrol but I cannot seem to delete or quarantine any
spyware until I purchase the software. It's $40.
I find it odd that Adaware is FULLY updated and it does not delete
trafficmarketplace and others including Alexa.
Do you have any suggestions? Should I purchase Pest Patrol?
Thanks,
Angel

I find it very strange it did not find Alexa as my AdAware definitely
found Alexa as well as other unwanted cookies and overall bad things.
Let's do this. Head over to
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html and download Hijack
this. Run it and then post the log here for review.

Hi THV,
Wouldn't it be easier if I purchased PestPatrol. I am not very good at
editing the registry and so on. This is a new computer and I don't
trust myself doing that. Please advise.
Thanks,

You won't have to do any editing of registry, however, if you feel
more comfortable using Pest Patrol, the advantage you would have would
be that you would be able to continue to protect yourself because I
can all but guarantee you will continually be assaulted with spyware.
