The cerebellum IS involved in posture, as are the basal ganglia and the brainstem (they start and stop voluntary movements). The hypothalamus monitors eating, drinking and helps direct the endocrine system through the pituitary gland. It is also Involved in emotion, stress, and reward. The answer is therfore HYPOTHALAMUS - it does not play a significant role in maintenance of posture and equilibrium |
