Windows XP, HP Officejet 4110, PaperPort 9.0 software...

The WIA (Windows Image Aquisition) dialog box always comes
up with the defaults "Legal" (8.5x14), Color Picture.
This has become very annoying as it takes a lot of clicking
and mousing around to fix the settings every single time
I want to scan a document.

I want it to default to "Black and white picture or text",
300dpi, Letter 8.5x11.

Better yet, I'd love to get rid of the dialog box altogether
and just scan with one click from the application using my
default settings.

The ideal solution would be a registry tweak or application
setting.

Any solution not requiring an additional purchase is good too.

The question of course is, "How can I make the WIA dialog box
default to my preferred settings?"

Thanks.
