I have purchased a log-cabin (not moved yet), but I am beginning to
hear horror stories about insects, and namely flies, that penetrate 
and reside.  Is there any way to treat the wood so that  i the house
is not subject to insect penetration?

One possible solution would be to treat the would with a borax
solution.  See the following url:
