Grignard reagents are stable to containment in a variety of stainless and carbon steels, as well as glass. Grignard reagents are powerful bases whose pronated form can have a substantial vapor pressure, so contact with protic sources such as water, acids, alcohols, hydrated salts, etc. must be avoided. Transfer of these reagents must be done under a dry nitrogen or argon sweep. Grignard reagents may keep for extended periods in storage. However, they may precipitate at lower temperatures in storage or in transit. Bulk Grignard reagents are supplied in a variety of solvents and containers. |

Thank you so much for the information. Would anyone know manufacturers of Carbon Steel packaging containers for Grignard Reagent ? If not, is there place where I can get more information on their specification like pressure rating ? Thanks |

Grignard Reagent can be transported in Polypropylene/HDPE drum in the form of THF solvate ~10%. I have successfully used it for 2-3 munths in lots after preparation. |
