I am interested in finding out what the goals of the US's foreign
policy are and if the US is fulfilling these goals (in particular
current and past to support ideas of current) in particular focusing
on Africa. I am ultimately trying to prove or disprove that Africa
should be prioritized higher in US foreign policy. What evidence is
there that it is a low priority, high priority or is it fine where it
is? This should be based on evidence through statistical analysis
(scholarly writings, case studies, etc...) as well as based on varying
views (opinions, arguments: Dem./Rep., Liberal/Realist, US/World,
etc...). Is the US following its mission or goals set out through its
foreign policy, in particular in Africa, or is it not prioritizing its
goals right? Ideas of HIV/AIDS, Trade, Telecommunications, Black
Economic Empowerment, FDI, HIPC, strategic placing of military bases
in Africa, global apartheid and US unilateralism and national and
corporate interests all come to mind. Please be specific don't just
say Pres. Bush addressed Africa in the State of the Union Address, bc
I know already that he ended up cutting money that should have gone to an
"emergency" fund that he spoke of and that the Global Fund is facing
bankruptcy. |
