Hello kimbo~
Currently, there are no states officially pursuing assisted suicide laws.
Hawaii recently considered a euthanasia bill; you?ll find a story on
this at Focus on the Family:
http://www.family.org/cforum/statenews/a0031060.cfm However, the bill
was defeated in May; new attempts may be made, but so far, nothing's
official.
In addition, Wyoming recently rejected an assisted suicide bill (See
?Assisted Suicide,? Wyoming Tribune-Eagle:
http://www.dwd.org/fss/news/wytrib.01.04.asp )
A good reason states may not be actively pursuing euthanasia right now
is that the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is soon to rule on
Ashcroft?s appeal regarding Oregon?s assisted suicide law. (Oregon?s
statute can be found on the Oregon State Legislature site:
http://landru.leg.state.or.us/ors/127.html )
The following list of ?Assisted Suicide Laws by State? may prove
helpful to you: http://www.euthanasia.com/bystate.html To keep
apprised of the latest assisted suicide bills, check out Citizen Link,
which is a group opposed to euthanasia, and tracks new bills:
