I am running an HP Pavillion with Win98 - just reformated and
reinstalled OS from HP recovery disks (don't have Win98 master ROM). I
have a TDK 52x internal cdr burner and the computer (while working
fine) will NOT recognize the cdrom drive (even though in the reformat
& install process it worked fine). I have done some online searchs
(HP, TDK, other sites) but have not found a viable solution. Please
advise.

Thank you xonnd but there are no drivers on TDK's site nor when I
search via Google (for a few hours). When I go into my System Manager
the CDROM is not present - an unknown PCI Input Controller is
recognized with an '!'. But again I am unable to find drivers and I
believe there must be a solution or site out there?

you likely need the drivers.

right click on 'my computer' then properties on the menu. then the
hardware tab. This should be the device manager, but i havnt used 98
fo years...
See if you cdrom is listed, it should have an exclamation point next
to it. in that case, you just need the drivers. Search on google or
tdk website.
