Hello billbryson

While it may seem to be the obvious answer, from personal experience I
find the best way to get details on new products is to contact the
companies through their press offices and get on their mailing lists,
either by e-mail or fax. They will be able to tell you exactly who to
talk to to get review models.

Most major companies will have either a PR agency acting for them in
the UK or a regional office. If they have a PR agency, it is worth
getting on their lists - I have found that many review products come
from the PR agencies rather than the company, especially when it comes
to larger companies.

I couldn’t list every contact here, as I don’t know exactly which
companies you would be interested in. I have included some of the
larger ones below.

Dell has its own press office located in the UK; it can be contacted
on (512) 728-4100. It also has press releases and product facts on its
website in the media section.

IBM's UK head office can be contacted at 023 92 56 1000, or through
its Website www.ibm.co.uk. Hewlett Packard, which has recently merged
with Compaq and is now known as the new HP, can be contacted on 08705
474747. Compaq and HP also do handhelds.

Nokia's website (www.nokia.co.uk) lists the latest phone models,
unfortunately, it doesn't list any UK contact for Nokia's press office
- only US and Finland-based ones.

You can also contact the mobile phone operators for details of the
upcoming models, such as Vodafone, 02, Orange, etc. It is worth
watching out for the new camera phones that O2 plans to introduce in
the coming months for Multimedia Messaging (MMS). The company has also
recently released a phone/PDA called the XDA in the UK recently.

PDAs:
Handspring: www.handspring.co.uk. The company’s international PR
person is Julie Staska (jstaska@handspring.com).

Digital cameras:
Olympus: Press-office@olympus.uk.com
Canon: http://www.canon.co.uk/press/mailpres.html
Nikon: The head of press and PR in the UK, according to
www.nikon.co.uk is Elaine Swift. The conatct e-mail is
press@nikon.co.uk.

Other publications also list new gadgets, such as:

http://tech.msn.com/

PC World is a US publication, but it is useful as an indicator to what
products may be available in the coming months.

Techno Scout is one more site that often has things fairly new and innovative:

They also have a catalog and newsletter email.

Thanks for contacting Google Answers!

I would keep an eye on Infosync (www.infosync.com) and Designtechnica
(www.designtechnica.com).

Good luck.
