Question ID: 323068
We need a stock ticker for our website. Can you help us to find the
HTML code that will display a free stock ticker?

Please try to find more than one. We pay $5 for every free HTML code
based stock ticker - up to $20.

Are you after a US stock ticker?
Do you need real-time, or would a delay (say 20 minutes) be acceptable?

Good question. Yes, we are looking for U.S. stock tickers.
Delay of up to 30 minutes is acceptable. Real-time is preferred.
THANKS!

I can't imagine any option that is going to be coded strictly in HTML,
they're all going to have some sort of dynamic scripting such as
JavaScript, PHP, etc.

Is this acceptable to you?

Clarification of Question by gfs-ga on 01 Apr 2004 16:42 PST
No, strictly HTML is NOT required. Here is an example of what would be acceptable:

http://www.redinews.com/ticker.htm
(Please don't provide anything from the above site, as I already found
this myself.)

The goal is to get code that I can copy and paste into an existing web
site. This code's purpose is to show a horizontal, scrolling U.S.
stock ticker.

Sorry for my delayed reply.

Goto sourceforge.net

Search for "Show me the money" or "SMTM" for short. It is real-time
quotes for free. It just runs like an application of your computer.
It is not web-based, but could be ported easily.

The guy who wrote Show me the Money has some other stock portfolio
tools, too, but I forget the name.

There are web-based groupware applications that have stock quote
tools. eGroupware and PHPGroupware are two that come to mind.

You probably want something written in Perl that accesses Yahoo! live,
free quotes. No ads, no spyware, no nothing. Just a text-only stock
quote.

This is hard to search for b/c the word "stock" is used for so many
other meanings. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. The last ticker, the Java
Stock Ticker, did not meet the requirments. It is only
updated every 24 hours.

Nevertheless, please go ahead and post this as the
offical answer. I appreciate your help.

THANKS!
