Hello, I am interested in bringing a new product to the market. The
product is a collapsible cart that would be used when going to the
beach, music festivals, picnicking and perhaps camping. The cart aids
in the transport of required paraphernalia i.e. chairs, blankets,
towels, umbrella, books, cooler etc. The carts most prevalent on the
Internet are ?Wonder Wheeler? and a couple by ?Roleez?, ?Sport Caddy?
and ?Roleez Push Cart?. They sell for $70, $150 and $250
respectively. I envision my cart to fall between the $150-$250 range.
I believe my cart would appeal to a more ?style conscious? and
?upscale? consumer. It is also my intention to later have a chair and
umbrella also available. These items would be designed primarily with
the beach in mind as I am assuming this will be the dominant or
largest potential market. I don?t see many drawbacks to gearing my
products for the beach when considering their use at music festivals,
picnicking and camping. At this juncture I am trying to establish
whether my product is profitably marketable, and I would like to do a
projected 3-5 year business plan. In order for me to accomplish this,
I need to know the answers to the following questions:

1.	What is the Total Market Size? (US only, # of units sold, # of consumers)
§	Beach type cart
§	Beach type chair
§	Beach type umbrella

2.	Is this Market declining or growing?

3.	What are the annual sales at retail?
§	Beach type cart
§	Beach type chair
§	Beach type umbrella

4.	What affect, if any, has the increased medical related warnings of
sun exposure had on:
§	Attendance at beaches?
§	Sales of umbrella?s?

5.	How does the seasonality aspect of these products affect:
§	Market penetration rates?
§	Market size?
§	Market demographics?

6.	What are the dominant distribution channels for these products?

7.	What does the Target Market look like?
§	Geographic
§	Demographic
§	Psychographic
§	Behavioral

8.	Is there any data/studies/surveys that would indicate certain unmet
needs of the Target Market? If so, what and who are they?

9.	Is there any data/studies/surveys available regarding consumer
attitudes and behaviors towards the effort required to transporting
their paraphernalia to and from the beach, music festival, picnic and
camp?

10.	What are the typical gross margins as a percent for:
§	Beach type cart?
§	Beach type chair?
§	Beach type umbrella?

These are my questions for now. I hope that someone can help me.
Thanks in advance.

I wanted to let the researchers know that I am familiar with the data
in the report published by Packaged Facts "The US Market for Outdoor
and Casual Furniture, Grills and Accessories". This report does not
go into the details I need regarding my product focus. I hope someone
can help me!! Thanks!
