We're researching on the prospects of setting up phone company using
Voice Over IP Technologies.  We're looking for sources on the
necessary equipments (gateway, voip enabled phones, etc) needed to
setup such a business operation on a small scale.  We're also looking
for sources for information on the how the technology works, what is
required to setup the operation, how call origination and termination
works, offshore industry suppliers (China and other low cost
countries), etc.

How do one setup something like net2phone on a small scale? (making
phone calls over the net using net phones)  i.e. offering the type of
service they offer.  What is required?  Anywhere we can get
information on the infrastructure setup, needed equipments, etc.

You might want to check out

of what companies are working on what applications in VoIP.  You
should also check out www.vonage.com as they are a big player in the
US and they do partner/reseller deals internationally.  Good luck!
