Pearloid is that funky material on (Stratocaster) guitar pickguards. Celuloid is the tortise shell looking material, and ivoriod (fake ivory) used to be used for billiard balls. Main ingredients are Nitric Acid and Celulose. I have been able to research the makeup/materials. I am looking for a new or vintage book that describes how to make it in detail. This is not so I can actually make it. Danger is an issue, it is for "a history of" project. Any leads for a book title? |
