Tell me about the bigamy case in colombia in 2001, is the defendant
related to the former mayor of colombia that went to prison?  Who are
the two women he was married to.

Hi, Oregon,

Could you be more specific about which case? Colombian law changed in
2001 to decriminalize bigamy, and the following quote indicates that
there were no recent cases just prior to the changes were made:

"Colombia's Chief Prosecutor Alfonso Gomez Mendez, one of the
architects of the new penal code, said the bigamy law is irrelevant
because there have been no recent reported cases."

Was tjos a criminal case in early 2001? A civil case anytime during
the year? Defendants names or more details would be useful in order to
track down more information.

The defendant's name was Andres Guzman, brother , I think is Mauricio, Mayor of Cali
