What qualifications, beyond being a lawyer, are required of nominees
for the position of Judge in the judicial systems of Great Britain,
Canada, Australia and the USA. I am particularly interested in any
requirements related to aptitude,psychological,or advanced educational
testing as well as any ongoing re-qualification provisions.

There are a variety of "Judges". It might surprise you to know that
some judges in the United States don't HAVE to be lawyers, nor do they
have to have any legal training whatsoever (County Judges, for
example).

Surprisingly, there is no requirement that federal judges (including
Supreme Court justices) be lawyers.
