Hello Smiles4u-ga,
After searching the web over I believe I found a smile mine of data
for you. The Surgeon General in 2000 developed a report on Oral Health
in America. It is an amazing and very detailed report. The following
link will take you to the link to get the whole report. It is a
332-page report in pdf format. You will need Acrobat Reader to read
it.

http://www.surgeongeneral.gov/library/oralhealth/default.htm

When I searched the document I found that employed adults lose 164
million hours of work each year due to dental disease or dental
visits. Much more is available in the report. It is well worth the
long download time. Hope that helps.

Nealc, thanks for the great source. Infortunately, I found this info
about two days before you did. So if in your wanderings you found any
additional statistics that pertain to my subject please pass them
along. Thanks Smiles4u

Off hand, I'd say that any stats you find will be inaccurate - every
time I have a job interview, I tell my boss that I'm going to the
dentist. :-)
