Hello gunboypaul,

According to 'Google Answers: Frequently Asked Questions' at
https://answers.google.com/answers/faq.html#becomeresearcher they are
not currently accepting additional applications.

(Scroll down the page to "Google Answers Researchers" #5)
"How do I sign up to become a Researcher?
Because of an overwhelming response by qualified candidates, we are
temporarily not accepting additional applications. Please check back
with us again, as we likely will begin accepting applications again in
the near future."

When Google Answers does begin accepting applications again, there
will be instructions given on how to apply. The process involves
writing a short description of your qualifications and answering a few
sample questions, which they send to you.

Google Answers allows non-Researchers to post comments to questions
that are being asked. If you are interested in becoming a Researcher,
you could begin posting comments to the unanswered questions and it is
possible that the Google Answers team will take notice. My
understanding is that some Researchers have been hired that way.
Although you do not receive payment for your comments, this would be
your best option for becoming a Researcher at this time. However,
there is no guarantee that Google is hiring by this method. But do
continue to check the link above to see when positions may open again.

Regards,
wellen
