I am interested in owning a sushi/sake bar in San Francisco in an area that does not have any sushi restaurants, has good foot traffic, and would potential make all of its income during the lunch hours. Can any one send me some information on a business plan, inventory list, possible payroll demands to get a place started. |

Hi! For basic info and a wealth of contact information for local Sushi Bar Owners in San Francisco, try www.eatsushi.com and enter the regional search (San Francisco). There are approx 167 sushi bars listed, so finding the unstaked out corner will be your first challenge. There are email links to the owners of each restaurant, so you may find "professional help" from the competition. Also, from my experience (10 years in Japan), sushi for lunch is not a big moneymaker, unless you are trying for one of the "Robata" Sushi type places (conveyor belt/cheap eats). Sushi is a evening pastime, especially in a area with a heavy Japanese population. I am sure that most of your other questions can be answered from the website I mentioned above (Suppliers, estimates, etc.) Another helpful website is www.bplans.com which has business plan information and start up cost calculators to help you once you have the basic information. |
