The most objective product comparisons come from Consumer Reports
magazine, who last reported on home aluminum and vinyl siding in their
August 1997 issue.

Unfortunately, that particular issue is not available online at their
Web site(http://www.consumerreports.org/main/detailv2.jsp?CONTENT%3C%3Ecnt_id=659&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=519#testedprior1997).
Even if it was, we could run into some copyright problems by posting
its copyrighted contents here.

Check your local library: they probably have back issues of Consumer
Reports on the shelf, on microfilm, or in one of their online
databases.

You can also order a copy of any report (either as a complete magazine
or a photocopied report) directly from Consumer Reports. Send a $5.00
check or money order to:

I would check out the site www.pricesearch.org/exterior.html for info
on Owens Corning Vinyl Siding, they also have Reynolds and Norandex
(which I believe is a division of Owens)
