I?d like to remove as much body hair as possible. This will be the
first time I?ve tried anything other than using an electric shaver
(yes, I?m male).

I?d like to know the best products to do this, without having some
stranger dripping hot wax all over me, and without having to repeat
the process every week.

Chemical depilatories are quite effective, and (unlike waxing) they
are painless. They do stink, though. Despite all the added scents, the
rotten-egg smell always seems to come through.

Good for legs, arms, etc., but I don't recommend using a chemical
depilatory on the naughty-bits. Too ouchy.

Markabe, you're in Australia, right? This might make a difference if
someone wants to recommend a name-brand product. Not everything is
available worldwide.

I used Nair roll-on for guys. It was effective, but I had some
irritation and a minor rash for a few days. And, yes, it stank.

Markabe - Let me differ and suggest laser treatment, as it is supposed
to remove hair permanently - not only for a certain period. It is
expensive though.

A chemical depilatory will leave a stubble. You may need to use it
fairly regularly if you have coarse hair. You can find a product
called Magic Shave used my a lot of black men on their faces. I would
guess it is a bit more manly and probably a bit stronger than Nair.
This is usually found amongst the black hair care product section in
the supermarket.

Wax will not leave a stubble but is a bit tricky. I have heard about a
product called Nad's. I think it is actually from Australia but have
seen it in the US..ah, here is the link:

It is a no heat wax, and if you get it in the wrong place, it just
WASHES off. It is also organic and does not contain the chemicals of
a depilatory or the smelly ammonium thioglycolate.

Chemical depilatories don't tend to work well if you have coarse or dark hair.
