I am searching for a computer puzzle game that is somewhat like Tetris
but the blocks are all set up for you at the bottom. You are given a
block and you must find out exactly where to drop it in order for the
other blocks to collapse/be distorted, all blocks will drop level by
level until there is nothing left. As I remember the game gives you
multiple tries and there is no time limit, there are about 20 levels
to this game. I have been searching for this game for a while and
would appreciate it if someone could find it for me. This game is not
a flash based game, you have to install this game (Like an
application).

Information requested: Name of game and if possible a link
Note: It could be a discontinued MSN game.

No, the game I?m looking for has a set amount of pieces already on the
base. No blocks are added by the game other than the one you are given
in order to try to collapse the whole. But thanks anyway

Hi eec,
This sounds something like Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, where the
aim is to set off the biggest possible chain reaction by linking
same-colored "beans":

Hi eec-ga,

While this isn't exactly what you're looking for, it may be of interest.

Some of the many variants of Tetris either do by default or can do,
according to preferences, what you describe.

I remember especially the arcade version of Tetris that could be
played for prizes, and an old PC game called EGAINT. Both started with
a random set of blocks at the bottom of the screen that could only be
removed in the standard Tetris manner, by filling in the rest of the
line that they appeared on.

Best of luck with your search!

the game you are looking for is called BLOCKOUT. I have a copy from an
abandonware site and it still works on XP.

I can only think of one game that looks like Tetris but starts at the bottom.
