So, you would like an average price that the pictures are selling at
for the Blocking the Sun series and you would like to know how many
pieces have been sold at auction? Is auction for the Blocking the Sun
series, or any of their works?

Thanks for the inquiry for clarification. I am interested in prices on
the Blocking the Sun series. I tried myself on several auction sites
but could not find anything. If the auction sites do not give you
anything, are there other sources? If there is nothing on the Blocking
the Sun series, any other pricing info. would be of some value.. I
also looked at their list ofshows and awards, and it is very
extensive. Thanks for your help.

Is this their website? I would like to make sure before I go on....
Also, is the series by chance, Blot Out the Sun?

Thanks,
Nenna-GA

Lots of notes, huh? I just see, now that I asked about the webite,
that you changed the question to include the URL. However, are you
sure on the name? Is it Blocking Out the Sun, or Blot Out the Sun?

Thanks again, Nenna-GA

George146,

Ok, I've got some wonderful news for you directly from Starn Studios.
When I contacted Gaudéricq Robiliard
Special Projects Director
Starn Studio, 64 Union Street
Brooklyn, NY 11231
Tel : (718) 522-7027
Fax: (718) 522-7029
gaudericq@starnstudio.com
www.starnstudio.com

He stated that not a lot of the Starns' work has been to auction.
"Their work has not been up for auction in a long time: people hold on
to them or go through dealers occasionally for secondary market."
Specifically, with Blot Out The Sun series, they have no auction
records of any of that series ever being sold at auction.

"Recent pieces such as Blot Out the Sun or others from Structure of
Thought, Attracted to Light, or Black Pulse, are priced from $3,500 to
$60,000 mostly, depending on their dimensions. Blot Out the Sun
includes 8 images printed in 3-4 sizes according to the image
(each piece has its uniqueness being archival inkjet on Thai mulberry
paper coated with bees wax and encaustic).
Again, there are no auction records for them.
You may also inquire directly with any of the Starns? dealers in the
US (Lehmann Maupin Gallery in NYC, Stephen Wirtz Gallery in SF,
Baldwin Gallery in Aspen CO, Martin Weinstein in Minneapolis)"

Those all came from Gaudéricq Robiliard.
As far as prices specifically for Blot Out The Sun Mr. Robiliard
stated if you emailed him, he would be happy to provide you with a
comprehensive listing and help you further with any questions you may
have.

Also, some information....They are preparing a series of international
shows for Japan and Sweden (summer and fall 2004), and will soon
announce more endeavors domestically.

They have beautiful work, in my opinion :)
Thank you very much for using Google Answers, I'm glad we could find
out this information for you and hope the links and contacts will be
of further help.
