Hi,
This seems to be around $100 million:

"Americans spend over $90 billion dollars on alcohol each year."
Source: UsNoDrugs.com
http://www.usnodrugs.com/alcohol-statistics.htm

"Today, Americans spend $100 million on alcohol annually."
(reported in december 2003)
Source: WashingtonProfile.org
http://www.washprofile.org/english/1%20(dec%208)/alcoholism.asp

More statistics can be found at:
http://www.usnodrugs.com/alcohol-statistics.htm

Search strategy:
Google: +spend +2003 +$ +americans OR +america OR +"united states" +alcohol

I hope this answers your question. If you need any more information,
please ask for a clarification!

Thank you,
paul_b_18

Note: it should not be 100 million but a 100 BILLION.
In the WashingtonProfile.org article they messed this up and that got me confused.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thank you,
